Established in 2005, we've positioned ourselves nicely in the midst of Scotland's biking heaven. After winning the Tourism innovation Development Award in late 2005 we are continuing to build on our business successes.

At the helm of MB7 is Iain Withers, who grew up on Scotland's trails, before they invented berms and drop-offs (shortly after they invented trees).

Iain finally hung up his fixie and delivered his last courier package in Edinburgh in 2004 and began MB7, the cycling business that runs The Clan. He has taken part in and enjoyed pretty much every form of cycling (except unicycling) and in 2008 was promoted to 'sad dad' trying to keep The Clan behaving well. Tricky.

Iain Withers is continuing to run The Clan and is still known as Mr MB7, Withersy or Sad-dad depending on how you know him.

After six years there are changes afoot for the MB7 business.

MB7 has won a top tourism award recognising our innovative business ideas

Andy Weir who has been around from the early days of MB7 has started RIDELINES (Mountain Biking Tuition) Ltd to take forward the mountain bike tuition, lessons and guiding business from Spring 2011. He's still known as Nice Guy Andy and Daddy Weir.

Andy worked as Iain Withers' right hand guiding man for six years at MB7. Firstly as their chief mountain bike instructor and then running the tuition and guiding side of the business.

RIDELINES picks up where MB7 leaves off.

RIDELINES will be taking bookings for all MB7 scheduled courses. So if you have already booked with MB7 your session will now be executed by RIDELINES. We are, after all, the same people!

RIDELINES are firmly based in the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, only 4 miles away from Glentress Forest and a few crank turns from Innerleithen XC and the superb downhill trails.

RIDELINES has a number of personally selected, fully qualified freelance mountain bike guides who work with us providing courses, tuition, coaching, guiding, corporate experiences and short breaks.

IAIN WITHERS

Managing Director, Tutor, Guide. SMBLA Mountain Bike Leader

After a long stint as a bicycle courier in Edinburgh, Iain returned to the borders to run MB7 Since a child, Iain stayed in a cottage at the bottom of the driveway into Glentress, regularly riding his bike in the forest before mountain biking trails had hit Britain. He began mountain biking in 1990.

Iain loves all types of cycling, but mountain biking is his passion. He has raced Downhill, Cross Country and endurance but now prefers a more leisurely style of riding a bike. When he isn't guiding he might be running 'The Clan' display shows the length and breadth of the country - bringing trials love to all and sundry or planning the next EPIC event in a forest near you. Either that or he'll be in the middle of nowhere, scouting new trails that may or may not exist.

Iain runs 'The Clan' and has some very big biking event projects in the pipeline.

ANDY WEIR

Tutor, Guide. SMBLA Mountain Bike Leader

Andy W joined the MB7 ranks in early 2006. As an ex-Edinburgh bicycle courier and more recently a Mountain Bike Ranger for the Forestry Commission, Andy knows a thing or two about climbing hills. Point him at any slope and he'll give it a go. Andy is far too modest to admit it, but he is probably one of the most easy going, and easy to get along with, people you are likely to meet.

Andy has led many MB7 groups since 2006 and specialising in epic days in the saddle We've finally convinced him to give up city life for the forests of the Tweed Valley and Andy now lives in Innerleithen four miles away from Glentress Forest. He spends his spare time collecting firewood to keep warm during the winter and enjoys rigging up his bike trailer and exploring Scotland and Europe.

From Spring 2011 Andy runs RIDELINES (Mountain Bike Tuition) Ltd offering mountain bike guiding, coaching, lessons, corporate, family and short breaks.

Stanley Yau

STANLEY YAU

Business Development & IT

Stan has been involved in MB7 from the start. Stan runs his own successful IT company, WellDataTech, but has still found the time to act as MB7's IT guru. Stan has come on board recently to develop the corporate side of the company, whilst dragging us reluctantly into the 21st century with gadgets aplenty. Its Stan's fault that your emails can reach us when we're in the middle of the forest or hidden away in mountain bothies.

In return, Stan has been dragged into the biking world by his heels. Not that he is particularly ashamed of his shiney new Klein Attitude. Since the birth of MB7, Stan has joined us on many scouting missions, although he always seems to find the trails that peter away into nothing.

Not that we can blame someone with the navigation skills of, well of an IT guru.
